Computer as ICT

The computer is use in education as information communication technology. Computer performs two distinguish roles, first it serves as an instructional media which consist of audio-visual aids that works to enhance and enrich the teaching and learning process. The examples are PowerPoint, photo, sounds, film and video. The slide presentation is created in the computers using the programs installed on it particularly the PowerPoint Presentation, other programs installed on it are the Internet explorer which is use in order to access the internet and also the Yahoo or Google which the students prefer to become their source of information and aside from that there were other programs which is very useful in instruction. When the teacher wanted to have an educational film viewing, he/she  can use the windows media player or the cyberlink power serves as a CD and VCD; and DVD player respectively also it can play downloaded films and videos using the same programs. On the other hand, educational media comprise the media of communication to audiences including learners using the print, film, radio, television or the computer satellite system. They could access information and messages nationwide and worldwide, making the computer as tool to information communication technology.

As a media for information communication technology, I can say that computer is very helpful in the learning process of the students because it provides us great experiences while learning, it engages our senses which makes us to have a high percentage of retaining the information or the lesson that we have learned and that is very helpful to the development of our skills, which can be cognitive, affective or the skill itself. The fact that the computer can make the classroom environment more conducive to learning and using it makes the lesson understandable; it is really evident that it is a very important tool in education.
